Wouldn’t you love to deepen your yoga and meditation practice? How about taking some time to unwind in the pastoral Uckermark countryside?
Allow me to take you there for a moment. Imagine winding your way through fields of wheat and sunflowers on an old country road and coming upon a lovingly-restored 19th century mill. The fragrance of purple flowers from a nearby meadow hangs in the air as you walk through the courtyard. A gentle breeze brushes against your sun-kissed skin. It’s time to join the afternoon yoga session.
You’re feeling strong, fit and healthy practicing Ashtanga yoga in the morning, spending your day outside, deepening your practice through the afternoon workshops, and drawing your day to a close with restorative yoga and meditation.
If you can picture yourself here, join us for an incredible weekend at the historic Breitenteicher Mühle, just an hour north of Berlin by train or car.
I’m so excited that we are holding this year’s spring retreat in Breitenteicher Mühle. The mill has been renovated using regional ecological building materials to serve as a place for personal development and growth. The rustic exterior and modernized interior provide a very special place for both practice and relaxation.
There quite a few interesting facts about the mill itself:
As for the accommodation, you can choose from either a two, three or four-person room. All have beautifully finished interiors and modern bathrooms, shared by at most four people. Each bathroom is equipped with both bathtub and shower to fit every mood. And for a special spring experience you could also choose to stay in a yurt!
Our meals will be vegetarian, sourced from organic, regional yummy produce. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies just let us know; we’d be happy to accommodate you. Spaces are limited so please reserve your spot early.
This yoga retreat is lead by me - Marta. Over the years, yoga has become an integral part of my life. I have a strong background in both technical and therapeutic aspects of yoga and meditation and I’ve been sharing my passion for it through teaching for over eight years. When I’m not teaching, I love to go for long walks in the forest, hike up the steep hills, climb or simply let myself float in a crystal clear lake. Feel free to read more about my path here.
The spring retreat is designed for all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners. If you’re familiar with the Ashtanga sequence, in the mornings you’ll be invited to join a Mysore style class. If you’re just beginning your yoga journey or would like a little more guidance through the series, the led Ashtanga class will be a good choice for you.
In the afternoon workshops, we’ll work all together, focusing on certain elements of the practice. Finishing the days with restorative yoga will give your body ample time to unwind and activate the parasympathetic nervous system leading to an experience of deep rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. Here, we’ll hold the poses for longer periods of time, with the body comfortably supported by a wide range of props. With such a clam state of body and mind, we’ll flow effortlessly into a deep meditative state of the last session.
Our location is easy to access from Berlin. You can drive or take a train (RE3, one every hour) to Angermünde and then either bike, walk or take a taxi from the station. Sharing a ride with other participants is also a possibility, you will receive further instructions upon registration. The mill is about 10 km away from the train station.
